No pix

Ok, so I told a tall tale. My last blog I stated I would post some pix from Epcot. After downloading pix from the camera, I realized I hardly took any, and so the lack of anything to view on my blog.

Yesterday I was in Mobile, AL to tour the Dead Sea Scrolls Exhibit, where among other artifacts, there were fragments from 12 of the original scrolls. The fragments were from Genesis, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Psalms, etc. Seeing the fragments kinda gave me goosebumps, especially knowing how old they are. Some of the other items were pieces of rope, sandal soles, leather clasps, and pottery. I also watched an IMAX film on Egypt and the pyramids. That was the coolest IMAX theater I've ever seen. It's in the shape of a sphere, and the seats are tiered at extremely steep angles. There is no screen per se, rather the film is projected onto the dome. It's really neat!

I took the scenic route back home, but it was intentional. Instead of taking the freeways, I took US 98, which follows the coastline in the Florida panhandle. There are some really cute beach towns I would like to go back and explore. In Alabama, I saw several plantation style acreages, and some had the long, tree-lined driveways that you see in movies. It was quite pretty, especially with all the blooming flowers, spring green grass and new leaves on the trees. I also ran into that nasty weather that the south got over the weekend. It was POURING rain! And just when I thought the clouds couldn't possibly have any more water, I got hit with an even greater wall of water. Made for some slower driving, that's for sure.

I've got to get as much off the my apartment floors as possible. Carpet cleaners will be here in a couple of days. It's not like they are dirty, I don't wear shoes in the place, but management is getting all the carpets cleaned, so I'm going to do it tonight since I've got the time. Until the next time...
