Oh, the Places You'll Go...

Howdy doody y'all...Florida was generally spared once again with regards to H. Rita. Other than the Keys getting swiped, we were fortunate. I just can't imagine how long it's going to take for the Gulf region to fully recover from H. Katrina. There're still places here that haven't completely gotten back on their feet from H. Charley, let alone the other two that followed two weeks consecutively. The moral of the story - when disasters happen, we're on our own.

Do you like my recent Dr. Seuss blog theme lines? The one for this blog is the title of a book for graduates, not that graduation is on anyone's mind at this time of year, but the title aptly describes the latest piece of news regarding my life. I've noticed the activity in my life seems to go in waves. I'll have periods of immense activity, then there'll be times of absolute mundaneness. Which is what has happened over the past several months. Well, that's about to change...

My days of employment at Florida Hospital are soon to come to a close. Next Wednesday, Oct. 5 will be my last day there. I've taken a position as Auditor with Darden Restaurants, Inc., located here in Orlando. If you're unfamiliar with this corporation, it's the parent company of Olive Garden, Bahama Breeze, Red Lobster, Smokey Bones Barbeque & Grill, and Seasons 52 restaurants. I will be an auditor for Olive Garden, which means I'll be on the road A LOT - 70% of the time. So my life will consist of planes, hotels, and rental cars. While I've never considered business travel as all that glamorous (because it really isn't), you just might see me more often than you do now. I'll be starting there Oct. 11.

Other than that, it's all quiet in the neighborhood...until next time...:-)
