Clean carpets and sleeping on the floor

'Tis another beautiful, sunny day on this sandhill. I set my clocks an hour ahead last night before tucking myself into bed. This wouldn't have been such a bad thing except for the fact that I committed myself to participating in a 5K walk/run for diabetes. The race started at 8am. Really 7am, which is what my body told me. Which also meant that I had to get up earlier than usual for a Sunday morning anyway. Afterwards I came home and took a nap!

You want to hear more of my sob story? Another reason why I took a nap after coming home is because I had a horrible night last night. My sinuses were all clogged up and I couldn't breathe if I wanted to. So I just tossed and turned and bemoaned my sad state of affairs everytime I looked at the clock. On the bright side, it was very invigorating to start off the morning with a 3-mile walk. I felt good afterwards.

I was supposed to have my carpets cleaned this past Tuesday. So I cleared off as much moveable items from the carpet as possible. The kitchen was full of chairs and floor plants. The beds were stacked with floor lamps, nightstands, plush animals, barbels, etc. I come home from work Tuesday to discover that no one had been to my apartment (I wasn't too thrilled about not being home when the cleaners were, but what could I do). Now I'm fuming. I'd done all that work and had no idea if and when they were going to be there. My kitchen was blocked off, my bed was piled high with stuff...so I decided to take a walk and breathe deep. Fortunately the complex manager was out on the road walking somewhere, so I accosted her and politely (through clenched teeth) inquired as to the status of the carpet cleaning. She informed me that they'd forgotten to come! What kind of mickey mouse operation is that??? And my apartment wasn't the only one scheduled for that day. They were supposed to clean the whole building next to mine. She had contacted them that afternoon and they stated they'd be there on Wednesday. So I didn't want to take everything off my bed, so I dug out my sleeping bag and slept on the living room floor that night. I'm telling ya, the things I have to go through!
