Thought I was done with school

Downtime...I've had to reaccquaint myself with that term and what exactly it entails. Good stuff. If its been a while since you've had it, you really should move it to the top of the priority list. I could get used to it. Having a few extra hours to relax and breathe properly does the soul good. Try it sometime.

I called DMV on Monday to make an appointment to get a CA drivers license. Trust me, you want to make appointments. If your DMV is anything like California's, you wait a lifetime. So I made the appointment for yesterday afternoon. Discovered I had to take the written test. AAARRGGHHH!!! I hadn't seen a drivers booklet since I was 16 and first got a drivers license! So I went to the DMV and picked up a booklet to study. I opted for this after looking through the online version and decided I'd rather have pages to turn. Started reading it Monday evening. Promptly fell asleep after about 15 pages. Wow! What a snoozer. If you have insomnia, pull out a drivers manual, it'll knock you out after 10 minutes. Anyways, I finally finished reading it Tuesday morning (no, I wasn't up all night). After I complete the application at the DMV, I discover that I get to keep my old drivers license number and since it qualified as a renewal, I only had to take 18 questions instead of 36. I guess sleeping with the book on top of me worked because I got all the questions right. It's a practice I picked up in school. Osmosis. If you sleep with your textbooks, somehow that information seeps into your brain. Anyways, I'm thankful I passed. The guy in front of me had to retake the test.

It's cooling down here in Sacramento. I've discovered that I've got to reaclimate to the weather here. And dig out the few winter articles of clothing I own. The few trees that turn color here are starting to turn. Which reminds me...next week I'll be in New England - Vermont, New Hampshire, Conneticut, & Massachusetts. New England fall foliage. It's all about timing. Be watching my blog for pics next week of foliage. The week after that, I'll be in Tennessee. More great pics from the Smoky Mountains. Timing.

Tick...tick...tick...
